It is only by presenting those portions of the race in my pictures, in the light and background of their true state, that we can raise our people to greater heights…moving pictures have become one of the revitalizing forces in race adjustment.

Projects that feature Black actors and are created by Black people are so important because what we see in the media dictates how we think about the world. Representation is so important for Black kids growing up.
